This is the guide to pets and other critters.
What you need to know about critters
Critters are controlled by the game's artificial intelligence, not to be confused with the AI. Some are friend, and some are foe - some are help, some are hindrance.
Critters are divided into six categories:
Pets
Robots
Fauna
A mixture of domesticated and wild animals. Friendly, at least until provoked.
Beasts
The natives of the planet who aren't so happy to see you.
Drones
Some robots aren't so helpful to the average colonist. These haywire creations will test your mettle with their metal.
Abominations
The origins of these creatures are as unpredictable as their behaviour. Tread carefully.
Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
Hivemind | A feared mesh of flesh and metal. It infests buildings and generates many horrible creations. | |
Reject | This slimy, deficient being can barely do anything except tear into other poor creatures. | |
Xenomorph | An extremely hostile, adaptable alien creature, capable of changing it's form to suit it's environment. |
Roaches
Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
Kampfer | The most common pest among the colony. | |
Jager | The Kampfer's bigger cousin, packs a bigger punch and can take a few more as well. | |
Seuche | Creates gas fumes to surprise and mask it's attack. | |
File:Gluhend.png | Gluhend | Pretty much a radiation roach. Glows in the dark. |
Gestrahlte | Placeholder I dunno, it's big, green, and fuckin' ugly, just kill it | |
Nanite | Tecnho-roach. Can cause small swarms of nanites to spawn and is a good source of nanobots. | |
Panzer | The even bigger cousin of the Kampfer, may even hurt you. | |
Fuhrer | Literally Roach Hitler. It can scream for backup, so if it yells, RUN! | |
Kaiser | The Kaiser roach is a gigantic behemoth compared to the Fuhrer roach, the strongest and most durable of the roaches there is. It has nearly all the capabilities as the rest of the roaches and if there's a Kaiser, there's likely a massive horde of roaches following behind it. | |
Roachling | A baby roach, can grow up to be whatever it's heart desires unless you show it the underside of your boot. |
Spiders
Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
Warrior | The tougher, more painful spider, approach with caution. | |
Hunter | Your run of the mill large spider. Avoid it's venomous bite. | |
Nurse | The caretaker spider, weaker than the rest, but is responsible for making nests and turning corpses into more spiders. Don't leave your dying near one of these. A bite from them can knock out anyone within a matter of seconds. | |
File:Spidercloaker.png | Cloaker | A subspecies of the Hunter spiders, Cloakers are just as fast and deadly, although deadlier with their skin enabling them to be nearly invisible, and entirely invisible within the darkness. |
Fortress | A more evolved variant of the Warrior spider, practically a tarantula, the Fortress spider is a monster that can go toe to toe with a fuhrer and come out on top. Its bites are more capable of breaking bone as well. Distinguishable by its more heavily armored body. | |
Viper | An evolved Hunter spider in the form of a black widow, it is much faster and stronger than the Hunter spider, running is not a option with this type of spider. | |
Midwife | A stronger caretaker spider, it is still responsible for the typical duties of a Nurse spider, however its bite is unique and it injects unstable mutagen into one's system. Identifiable by the purple marks on its black body. | |
Recluse | An incredibly weak spider that acts much like the Nurse and Midwife, although its bite is the deadliest. With a single bite, it can knock anyone out instantly, using Zombie Powder. | |
Spider Queen | A matriarch of the spiders, the spider queen is a large black spider that has the same duties as the Midwife and Nurse, although it reinforces the nest further by laying eggs. Stronger than the Fortress spider with a bite that injects combat stims, it is not something to easily go against. | |
Emperor | Whether they are the patriarchs of the spiders or not is unknown but what is known is that nothing can outrun a Emperor. It is more intelligent than its kin as it can sometimes lay in wait to ambush from the ceiling, knocking its prey down with a shrilling screech. If you are perceptive, you'll see its malicious red eyes in the shadows. If one is to survive a encounter, get to medical immediately before its venom kills you. |
