Being a Visitor
A visitor is some random person who is not a citizen of the colony but has been cleared to enter the colony for work, communication, or to tour it and later possibly become a citizen. Unlike a standard colonist, you are not given full rights, though you are considered an ally. Your records may or may not be filled out, but contain a minimum of your fingerprints, DNA, registered name, and your skill set. Services given to other colonist, such as medical or security aid may not be guaranteed like it would be with a colonist. All factions are within their right to ignore SoP or treat you differently, though obviously they cannot commit crimes against you. As a visitor, you must tread the line of being completely self reliant and maintaining good relations with the various factions and the colony as a whole.
What makes good visitor roleplay
- Not being a sovereign citizen.
- Not being a soveriegn citizen.
You and security
As a visitor, you are an ally to the colony and have been vetted in some form to have free access to public areas, however this does not mean you can get the same allowance as a colonist. Marshals and blackshield do not need to give you due process nor even consider your feelings or concerns on matters if they suspect you of a crime. Should you cause a problem, it is not only expected but encouraged for marshals to either exile you from the colony immediately at their discretion or simply shoot you dead and mark you Do-Not-Revive if the crime is severe enough. You are not a citizen, you do not get citizen rights. Expect to be treated as less than a person if you cause problems. Personal property of a visitor who is found suspected or convicted of a crime is not guaranteed, if a marshal feels it is necessary, expect to be stripped down to just your jumpsuit and have all items, credits, or supplies taken from you before you are exiled. Marshals have final say on how a visitor is to be treated (with order of importance based on rank i.e. officer/specialist -> ranger -> warrant officer), up to and including exile, execution, or confiscation of all items owned or held by said visitor. This can only be overridden by a council vote.
OOC: These rules only apply to visitors given a visitors badge, not to hunters or other visiting bodies. Visitors like that are covered elsewhere on the wiki.
