Anyways, this is a general state of things post for the forum, server, and other content in relation to staff and other various things. I’ll try to section this into an FAQ style post to answer some reoccurring questions that I’ve been getting in Dms and in game.

>You’ve not been around as much, Kaz, why?
On the 23rd my yorkshire terrier died from heart failure. On the 11th my shepherd died of organ failure from a likely poisoning, he passed so quickly that the vet didn’t even understand how. On the 14th my grandfather passed away. Added onto that my car broke down, a tree fell on my house, the man we paid to repair the damage to the house ran off with the money and we’ve retained a lawyer to sue his company, and various issues with my less than noble brother has caused me to have to handle things for the family in the good ol’ boy way. It’s been rather busy for me, so I just haven’t been in the mindset to play rp games with all the deaths and near deaths I’ve had in the last 30ish days. Still coding in my off time though.

>Sounds like a shitty time, you colossal [REDACTED], are you going to leave?
I have no plans to. The discord being deleted in concert with all of this misfortune hasn’t killed my enthusiasm for coding and making new content, as evidenced by the launch of an entire new power system that myself, sieg, and r4 developed. I have a weird thing where the more stressed or depressed I get the more it drives me to work and accomplish goals. Which is pretty self evident given the space dungeon release and lodge rework when shit hit the fan on the 23rd . Both released in the same week. In a way, misery is motivation to me.

>Why’d the discord server get deleted?
We know who did it and why, as his staff team had 3 members eager to slide into my Dms over it. However, with the deaths and things going on and K5 wishing to handle the matter, I see no reason to reveal it. It was a coordinated mass report by someone with a grudge against Sojourn and former staff like Scrub. That is all I am willing to say here.

>So what now?
Things continue on as normal. By providence, the deletion happened right as we began a break between story arcs, allowing me to put my now stressed induced work ethic into play and (with the help of R4, Sieg, and Trilby) accomplish not only everything posted in the original roadmap for ‘will be done’ section but accomplish everything on the optional code section. Our development, our story arcs, our server goes on no matter what reddit, skyrats, or citadel seethe over. When Soj started and it was a high pop of 10 people with little content people who hated us laughed and joked, but once we got bigger, once we got to a standard pop of 40. Suddenly they weren’t laughing, suddenly take down posts appeared on reddit and we were a problem that needed to be canceled. I’ll give them some credit, they did make our pop drop to a standard of 25-30, so they do have that to hold over us I guess. I was happy back when the pop was 15 high, let alone up to 30. So I dunno, guess they got their ‘win’ they can print off and put on their fridge so mommy is proud. Meanwhile, the server goes on, churning out new content and running weekly events.

>Why make this post?
So I don’t have to answer the usual questions. It’s easier just to use this forum so people can read it.

>Speaking of discord, what’s new with the new one?
We follow the ToS and have to police speech accordingly, even if nobody on the staff team wants to. Their platform, their rules. Most of the community in ss13 are zoomers who do not realize competitive platforms exist and that you can host communications elsewhere. We built and set up the forum specifically so if, somehow, the discord gets yeeted again we will lose nothing at all and can simply move over to Riot or one of discord’s competitors. Otherwise, you just can’t use gamer language on the discord itself anymore, or the forum since its linked on discord, but in game you can still say whatever you want. Lucky us.
