Your side of the story:
He returned from the shelter of the wolves with a team of prospectors. I'm standing in our department, writing code in another window. I inform the prospector next to me that I am slightly busy outside the game, and could have missed something. I see on the general communication channel that the ranger called me to the brig. I'm going to the brig. Come. I stand looking at them.
"Zion He looks at you stupidly, tilting his head to the side. Leans against the glass and licks it."
He tells me "Your records, You need to take your Medical examinations." of course, a zero reaction follows from me, since the character simply does not understand anything except the command "Bite!" and other things. I'm not doing anything. The Ranger asks to wait. I sit down on the floor and wait, as befits a "good boy".
Ranger Castillon says, "Stay there."
"Zion He's sitting on the floor and watching you.
Zion Examines the dirty floor, twitching his ear. Sometimes he looks at a strange person.""
He comes back and pokes me with an arrest statement, as if a character showing his understated intellect with all his might will understand him. I hand over the weapon, since he asked for it, and the character can understand it purely logically.
"Ranger Castillon asks, "Do you have any weapons?"
Zion He studies the new floor layer with interest. Also dirty.
Ranger Castillon says, "Please drop them."
Zion has thrown the large-cell spiked boosted powered sledgehammer."
He pulls on the handcuffs.
"You pat Ranger Castillon's head. 2
Ranger Castillon has grabbed Zion passively!
Ranger Castillon has grabbed Zion aggressively!
Zion has broken free of Ranger Castillon's grip!"
Leads to the camera while Zion just looks at him, not understanding what is happening.
"Ranger Castillon says, "First, we'll get you processed."
Zion Looks at you stupidly."
As a result, he just immediately talks about cryo, does not name any time frame, just logically locking Zion in the cell for the entire shift, because the opposite is not named.
Does not lead to any medical examinations, which he talked about, just left in the cell.
"Feel free to lay down, or Cryo. I'll be faxing about you."
Ranger Castillon says, "Since you apparently lack the ability to speak."
Zion did not damage him until the ranger opened fire from Martin in non-lethal mode.
He started attacking the ranger only after shooting from his side. Let it be a shocker, but it is pain, like an animal that has no idea what "non-lethal weapons" are, reacts to inflicting pain exclusively with aggression. The initial task was just to grab, and after that, to pull the handcuffs / take hostages, take the PDA and calmly leave, throwing out the ranger along the way. As a result. the ranger decided that he could handle the situation personally, which means he was ready for the consequences, and already more serious self-defense on the part of Zion.

Why you think you should be unbanned:
Few of my characters have recordings in general, I've been playing here for more than six months, if not a year. It was the first time ever. I was trying to show that Zion has no involvement in his records, and I would certainly have continued to cooperate with Ranger if he had not acted in such a rude way, simply completing a round for me, due to an error in the records written outside the round. He didn't help solve the problem, he just put Zion in a permanent camera and said about cryo. He only complicated the situation with his shooting, although he could just freeze and not move, once again without provoking the creature. In Zion's records it is clearly written that this is a "WILD animal" that is "NOT aggressive" to people, as long as they do not try to harm him. In any of the rounds, Zion is a friendly big big guy who will gladly take any damage for his comrades who treat him well. Zion did not try to attack his comrades after the situation when they came running to shoot him with joyful hooting, because he considers them friends. That's all I wanted to say. If this smart ranger would read records, and not just scroll through the entire database looking for missing items, he could survive, and even more, discover Zion as a friend, instead, he went down the wrong path.

You're lying here in your appeal, you ate his brain and round removed him. You can even see where your character tastes brain in the logs that you yourself posted. -1 from me. A psychotic character is no excuse to round remove someone. And even if you didn't round remove someone, you were escaping HUT which has been a PK in the past.

I had to answer questions from the administration. There are no safer places than outside the colony for this. Brain removal is a pure RP aspect. If Zion ate all the organs and parts of the ranger, why should the brain be something special for him? If the server has such an aspect as "Removal from the round = permanent death of the character", then I don't mind the ranger bringing his character back to life by deleting this situation from his memory. I never want to spoil the game for other players, but I'm also not going to look at how the game is spoiled for me, completely ignoring the specifics of the character and addressing him according to a template that clearly does not suit him.
Flash-bang grenade, Martin, rifle. You couldn't stop an unarmed man. Why try at all if you don't have the skills to fight in general. I try to follow the RP path until the game turns into a formal battle.

You opened fire while attempting to capture, while you were not harmed in any way. You got the answer. You could have just continued this role-playing situation, but you decided to go down the path of combat. You lost, to a naked and unarmed man.

Maybe your procedures were correct, but here's the problem, the character didn't understand you. For him, it looked like a stranger just pulled handcuffs on him and put him in a cell all alone, for an indefinite period. Do you think he will be very happy? After that, they also started shooting at him.

I wasn't directly involved and I'm not sure why you're assuming that I am. I'm just an admin who was overviewing the situation. Your attitude here by attempting to boast about beating someone as a naked man is not a good look, that's all I'm going to say.

I wasn't directly involved and I'm not sure why you're assuming that I am. I'm just an admin who was overviewing the situation. Your attitude here by attempting to boast about beating someone as a naked man is not a good look, that's all I'm going to say.

I'm not bragging, but a person initially could not win in battle, why did he not want to win in RP?
Killing a character is an extreme measure for me. If the opponent's character is closed to RP, and only wants to shoot, I will not return to the role-playing game, completely switching to combat.

I am going to let other staff weigh in if they wish to give any input on improper handling. I will, however, list my exact reasons as to why I am personally in support of this PK.

Firstly- Self Antag Rules. This is a direct quote from the self-antag rule page. I have underlined the section you were in direct violation of.

- "Don't kill other players as a general rule. Not only will this get you killed or perma-brigged yourself but admins will immediately be alerted to your shenanigans if they haven't already and will be scrutinizing you far closer. Causing someone to die but still capable of revival is a little more acceptable then crushing someone's brain and removing them from the round entirely. Any forms of perma death will attract admin attention incredibly fast."


Secondly - You have a history of refusing to accept consequences.

- Previously when your psionic organ was removed, using it to escape security after breaking into a location, you were going to be revived without the psionic implant due to abusing it. You took your frustration to LOOC while dead saying you simply would deny the revive because you did not wish for the consequences to your actions. This includes complaints levied to me a round after the already mentioned round of continuing the same behavior from the previous.

Normally, this would be more acceptable to just respawn or say 'I am just sort of done with the round, please do not bother' - but the refusal to accept consequences dished to you as a result of your action, and openly demeaning/insulting people over the decision in LOOC while dead, has already been openly established.



In my opinion, I believe Trilby's 'PK' of the character is far more fair than what I would have even suggested. You purposefully, and knowingly, removed someone from the round. Something you could avoid even being HUTed for by just setting your records; the ranger never attempted to round remove you without any provocation.

Eating his brain and thus round removing him is a direct violation of our self-antag rule. Furthermore, when you applied for you whitelist you stated you would 'bear the necessary responsibility for them', to quote.

Your character not only murdered someone, which I actually would be more in favor of a strike rather than a PK for inherently since they were not a repeat offender of any sort and 'new' - however the character cannibalized a person and, as the murder charge even states on our wiki, is thus eligible for execution due to the target not being able to be revived. As you purposefully made sure of that.

I would say Trilby's decision is generous in this case, as I believe depending who handled this it could have been more severe.

The records were set and are present in the character, in the medical records the ranger found an error that he did not try to find out about, and did not try to help fix it, instead simply putting him in the camera for the entire round. I don't think this is normal, and I won't get off the position of whether I did the right thing in this situation. I accept this punishment, and I'm not saying that the character should be restored immediately after he got under PK, but I would like to return the opportunity to play on it in the future, in a few months or a year, when everyone forgets about the situation.

We have in our example paperwork section what expected records are, and usually staff are to inform players of this as they join or can be easily found. Furthermore, I know from your other characters you have rather lackluster records and you are not rather new to the server. This is an IC issue technically but - I do not care for the 'I'm a victim because he did not offer to type paragraphs of records for me'. No one is obligated to do your records for you. It is a law on server to have you go back down and do them yourself or you can sit in an HUT cell till you decide to go do them. A Marshal may volunteer to help you with them, just as a doctor may volunteer to help you - but no one is obligated to.

If you accept this punishment, as you stated, I see no reason to appeal it since the only way this would be reversed is if there was a flaw in the reasoning for such an appeal. Examples being bias, misapplication of rules, or being too 'heavy handed' in a form of a admin action taken or if the player shows improvement to warrant an unban.

Even ICly I see no reason why a frontier colony run by what are basically corporations would ever want to revive and give the years upon years of therapy to fix a murderous cannibal ICly neither, nor having to OOCly stick players to have to engage with you to do so since that's - seemingly what you want based on your records comment.

Murder and cannibalism aren't stuff taken lightly in real life. As an HRP environment wishing for round continuity with a few limitations we aren't about to say 'yes in a month or so they can be released'. People don't forget a person acting like Hannibal Lecter.

You opted in to self-antag as such. This has been the consequence of doing so and breaking the rule especially while doing so. Hopefully the ruling given by Trilby leads to consideration of hard-self antaging in such a nature that can be round-ruining for other players, such as exactly what happened in this case.
