Your side of the story: The colony was on alert because the AI had noted that an outsider had broken into the Blackshield armory and so marshals, blackshield, and prospectors were searching for them. After roughly an hour of coordinated searching outside the colony and inside the colony while while still receiving radio messages from the outsider in question, I decided to search the crawlspaces on the middle floor. I started above the public autolathe, which was empty. I decided to check the area above the artist's office next but couldn't remember how to get in there aside from actually being inside the office, having been in that role several times previously as this character, so I opted to dig across. I encountered the outsider in the tunnel above the artist's office and engaged in conversation as it seemed they might be AFK and despite the alert and the fact that they were an antagonist at this point who was possibly armed with everything in the blackshield armory I didn't feel good about just gunning them down with no response. I called the others by radio to let them know I'd found the outsider, at which point the outsider opened fire on me and I shot back and after a firefight the outsider was killed. It was then that I was questioned in LOOC by Cairath as to how I found them.
I'm not clear what I could have done differently aside from simply not taking part and being told that I meta-gamed the outsider's location doesn't make sense to me as I spent around an hour with everyone else searching just about everywhere else in and out of the colony that I had access to. Getting called a cheater for stumbling on an antagonist while following the rules feels rotten, especially when the location is open to anyone with either a shovel or maintenance access.
