Relevant Administration Experience (if applicable): I was a Moderator on Aurora for a decent amount of time.. back in.. ~2014-2016? I'm hazy on the dates. I've also created and administrated a Discord community of my own, as well as several Minecraft RP servers over the years. During that time, I went by the CKey 'Valkrae'.
Qualifications: It has been a while since I've seen the SS13 moderation tools, but I am distantly familiar with them. I would need some coaching in their use, but I'm sure I could re-learn it fairly quickly. Aside from that, I know a great deal about the basic mechanics of SS13, enough to help with questions that come through ahelps regarding that.
Why do you wish to be a staff member?: To help out in a community I've enjoyed being in. To make it easier for myself to be facilitated in running small, low-impact events. I will be honest in the regard that, I am a new face to the community. However, I've noted that there are a lot of times where conflict resolution and de-escalation could be applied to lower tensions, and reduce salt. I believe that I'm rather decent at easing tensions between aggressive parties. Not only that, I've noticed that sometimes there are no moderators on the server, where there could serve to be some to fix possible issues that might occur. I play a lot in deadpop hours, especially.
What are your principles regarding the job you apply for, and the players in the community you are volunteering to serve?: Impartial, fair moderation. If the situation involves myself, or someone I am close friends with, being able to take a step back from the situation. I believe in keeping IC in IC, and OOC in OOC at all times. If a situation could be solved ICly, it should be solved ICly. I believe that, at the end of the day, this is a video game played by people who want some escape from the real world. Bringing hostility and aggression into that isn't going to serve anyone any good.
